Tonight I rebuilt my front brakes, reman calipers, new rotors, and hawk lts pads. Greased the piston faces, the backs and sides of the pads, and the pins with the hawk grease. Flushed the brakes with DOT4 fluid.
Test drove, they need to be bedded properly, but they feel strong.

Thrashed the GX just enough to let it know it IS an off-road vehicle.

Changed suspension again
On Friday I had the front stock coil springs replaced with toytec eibach springs. These were installed in bilstein 5100s that were already on my gx. Today I swapped out the old man emu 895e springs for icon rear springs.

First imppresions are very positive. I already had the front 5100s on the 2nd notch from the bottom so with the eibach/toytec springs in ended up with 2.5" lift from stock. I am at 37" at the front fenders from the ground. The rear Icon springs were an inch taller than the OME 895E springs. I ended up with 38" at the rear fenders. The ride is MUCH better. I'm sure my front springs worn (140,000 miles), but the biggest difference is the rear. The Icons soak up the bumps where as the OME springs just crashed over them. The OME 895E and 895 have the same spring rate only the 895E is 1 inch shorter. these are very stiff springs and unless you have a lot of weight in the back the have very little compression.

Which part did you use to convert to springs? This is my next mod. Mine is raised 2" with airbag but the ride in the back is sometimes unbearable. Plus, I don't like the idea of airbags popping out in the middle of nowhere.

Installed a fresh set of Bilstein 5100s with the OEM springs at the 2nd from the top setting. This gave about 1.5-1.75" lift, evening out the stance both side to side and front to back (the passenger side was .25" lower originally). I'll probably trick the airbags a little to get some rake back but not too much...I don't want to make it ride too hard back there.
The test run over the mountains to the 19th century pioneer cemetery revealed a ride that is noticeably more firm. It's not uncomfortable and definitely controls the heavier LT tires better than stock. What I notice now is that the rear seems a bit unruly in rough terrain.

Last night I washed the Lexus, did an oil change, greased the driveshafts, and changed the air filter. Hoping to get some more stuff knocked off my list this weekend, I've got a new PCV valve, rear licence plate hardware, reverse bulbs, and a filthy interior yet to look after.
