Default Lexus Extended Warranty Prices

How does $2280 sound for a Lexus 7year 100,000 miles extended warranty?

Sold by a Lexus Dealer

2008 GX470 26,000 miles.

Outstanding. I paid $2300 for a 4/48k aftermarket warranty

If anybody is looking, call for Toby at Lexus Bossier City, Louisiana(John Harvey Toyota), easy as pie for me this afternoon to buy this over the phone.

He is trying to win a contest for a cruise, so I guess he is dealing. Easily the best price I found calling around today.

That super low miles, but, it looks like it will only wind up being a 3 year warranty extension? Do you really think you will accrue $2300 (or more) in warranty claimable repair costs over that time, to justify this expense?

My 2004 with 78k miles has needed under $500 in what would have been warranty related work since the factory warranty expired. Excluding regular maintenance items, I am not expecting any service costs until the 90K major service.

How long are you planning to keep it? Just trying to understand the reasoning.

I just picked this up down in Florida and I will have 100k miles on it within 4-5 years with repeated off-road adventures for recreation and camping/hunting/fishing. One hiccup on the air-suspension alone would justify the outlay.

Add a glitch in the ML electronics/navigation over the next 75k miles....and, easy peace of mind for my intended use.

My traded in 2000 4Runner 4wd handled this use pretty well, but I had exspenses easily approaching $2200 over the first 100k miles since I did not buy the extended warranty on it.

And of course, what is said about insurance is always true, no one needs it, till they need it.

I myself is considering purchasing this extended warranty thru Lexus since our '04 is 102,000 miles now. I wondered how many more miles they can extend my warranty since its already 100,000+ miles?

I'm officially done with extended warranties.... Had an issue with a horrible smell coming from the HVAC vents in my GX and took it to Lexus dealer. Sure enough there is a TSB for the condenser. However, since the extended platinum warranty specifically states "failure" of a covered component, they wouldn't pay a dime of the $900 cost to fix. I had to go through Lexus corporate and they agreed to cover 1/2. This is my second GX and I'm passing 100k. This is the only issue I've had with either. Save your money......

I'm a fan of the ext warranty in so far as if i didn't i'd surely have needed it and thus have one myslef. However, to your comment on the Navi and electronics, are you sure they are covered? I'm thinking there was an exclusion of these in the detial points. Maybe not, but if that's one of your driving points in buying, it might be worth checking.

Call Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota (do a search for his name and yes it is a Lexus platinum warranty and yes several have bought it from him). For about $200 more you can get the 8 year 100,000 mile warranty. I bought the warranty but ended up trading my 2008 for a 2012 and got a refund but for an extra $200, to me it is probably worth it.

Edit: Nevermind I see you already purchased the warranty but if you wanted another year I'm sure it wouldn't be much more.

Sounds like a good price. I own an aftermarket warranty and it is horrible. I was told I could bring my truck to Lexus but what they forgot to tell me is they have the "right" to pay for only aftermarket parts, which means you cannot bring it to Lexus(they wont use aftermarket parts) I am currently waiting for a claim for a power steering pump. They originally only approved aftermarket but it did not fit and after waiting 2 days they will allow for OEM. I want to cancel the remainder of the warranty and call for a Lexus one. I have an 04 with 86k miles.

Unfortunately your only option at this point is aftermarket. Once you pass the original 4 year/50k warranty, you cannot buy a Lexus warranty anymore.

I am interested in buying an extended warranty for my 2006 sc430 with 93k miles that is exclusionary and covers the hardtop convertible motor etc. I just received a quote from the Lexus dealer that I purchased the SC430 for a Lexus Platinum Warranty (exclusionary) 4 years, 50 K miles $0 deductible. Expensive at $4,650 but provides peace of mind, its transferable and adds to resale value when selling the car. All in all a great find... much better than 3rd party alternatives. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for me... Thanks!

Too many miles for a Toyota, it'll have to be an aftermarket, so pick your poison.

I've yet to hear about a good aftermarket warranty. I'd just save your money and put it into a "savings" fund and use that when or if the time comes. Half of these fly by night warranty companies won't even be around when you need them. You have to be really careful and do a LOT of research when choosing an aftermarket warranty and if you decide to go with one make sure it's been around for years and make sure you read the fine print when it comes to what they will cover and what they will not over on your specific warranty plan!
