Default Weird electrical problem...

So after 6 1/2 years, my original Panasonic battery died today morning. I used jump start to get to work and used the same method to take the car to Sears to replace with Diehard Platinum.

While driving back, after the battery replacement, I noticed that I couldn't use auto power window roll up or down on driver side (manual roll up/down worked). Other three windows won't even work. I checked the windows lock button and it wasn't in lock position.

I turned the ignition power off and turned on to ACC. Then I could able to roll driver side windows up/down in auto. However, other three windows remain unoperational. I also noticed a small green light on the window **** is illuminated only for driver side.

What could have caused this bizarre behavior and how to fix it?.

This is covered at length throughout the forum, as it is an issue for all Lexus cars. The auto feature needs to be initialized. The green light on the window button will flash on each door in the sequence in which each window needs to be initialized.

Start with the driver door, hold the button all the way down and for a few seconds after the window is down, then hold the button as the window travels up and hold for a couple of seconds after it has reached the top. Repeat this as the buttons on each door dictate. I think front passenger, rear right and rear left is the sequence that follows.

Great! To play it safe, also try the auto open/close feature on the moonroof. On my GX, it actually did not need to be initialized, which at the time seemed strange since other Lexus cars require that for the moonroof as well. If you need to do it, just hold the button in the open position, watch the moonroof tilt up and down, open and close (all while still holding the button on "open") and let go of the button when the whole cycle has ended.

I have this same problem after disconnecting the battery but the normal recovery procedure recovered only the driver's window. The other three are still dead. All of the fuses under the hood and beneath the dash on the driver's side passed a continuity test. Still scratching my head!!!

Did you roll the other 3 windows up and down from their respective doors (rather than the master switch on the drivers door)?

You have to do the same with the sunroof as well.

For door window resetting after disco the battery, I only do the door window switch procedure. I don't touch the sunroof nor do I need to reset any radio presets.
