Default 2009 GX 470 in CA

Hello everyone
I have been reading up posts on this forum for a while now and now I am ready to take the plunge. hence this post seeking your advice.

I am contemplating a 2009 GX 470 13K miles that is being offered at 47,000

any reaction/suggestion on price point?

I am a little jittery on the overall safety of this truck - after I read consumer report stating rollover safety risk on 2010 GX 470. any input there? does 2009 fall into the same category?

Thank you! in advance.

I paid about $5k less than that for mine new, if that tells you anything.

Do not concern yourself with the safety of the GX 470. The consumer reports article has NOTHING to do with the GX "470" and everything to do with the GX "460." That said, Lexus has addressed the issue with the 460.

Gonna pay a premium in California that's for sure. And...what the previous post says. GX470 didn't have the rollover problem. I've taken a 45 at 75 and it's rock. (sport setting) Before you flame, if you saw the turn from the 15 onto the 215 in Las Vegas you would know that it's NOT a 45mph turn.

$47K sounds too high, did you check autotrader.com 2009 is very rare since its very last year before the new GX460 came out. New GX470 fully loaded when it was new was $47K

$47k for a new loaded '09?
Try $54-56k with nav, but no KDSS.

did you check the prices? you told him to check autotrader. Then you say the price is a little high with without verification. The average price within a 500mile radius of Long Beach, CA was $47K. ($46,582 to be exact), So I can say the price is within reason.

That price may be in line with what other dealers are asking for similar GX's in your area, however there is no way I'd ever pay that much.

Almost $50K for a two year old truck that is the last year of a 7 year run? Essentially, that truck isn't very different from my '03. I'll pass.

As for the comment about an '09 being "rare".....this is exactly why. Not too many people interested in paying top $$ in '09 for a 7 year old design that was about to get a major overhaul.

Did you check the prices? I dont know about you but when I shop for the vehicle distance for me is not a factor. Condition of the vehicle, how many miles, and MOST IMPORTANT IS PRICE!!!!~!!!

Nowdays you can get Used 2010 Lexus GX 460 10,195 miles Claret Mica for $48215 at 8337 Raspberry Way Frederick, CO 80504. Yes its 800 miles away from Los Angeles but who cares and its CO where they snow.

Or you can get Certified Used 2010 Lexus GX 460 15,340 miles Burgundy from SEWELL Lexus Most trusted dealership. Yes its 1200 miles so what?

My friend just bought 2008 Lexus with 37k miles KDSS Sport Package from Prestige Lexus in NY for 33K. Shipping was $900 Total cost 33.9K for 2008.

Prestige Lexus has another one for $35K with 34K miles, but I am sure they willing to sell for $34K

So if you can get 2008 for $35K with shipping its 12000 less then 2009 I would much rather go for 2008. Even its in NY, and road condition is worth then in CA.

New? I thought it was used! For $48K you can get GX460 in Colorado with 10,000 miles according to autotrader.

@mann777 - Just before my post, Lexus 4 ME posted "New ['09] GX470 fully loaded when it was new was $47K."

That MSRP is not accurate, so I jumped in. It might be correct in terms of what was actually paid. Regardless, new car depreciation is pertinent to this discussion.

Try to keep up. [No offense intended]

And, yes, the GX470 in question is hella expensive! [Beating dead horse]

And, yes, it's rare only because demand was extremely poor. Who wanted the old model with the new one right around the corner?

Lexus 4 ME's latest post about getting a GX460 for about this price is a great idea!

@ Lexus 4 ME:

Nice find! You're trying to make me look foolish ... actually, I can do that without much help.

Th $47k price must be without options.

With those options, the price is / was $54-56k.

Please accept my e-apology!
