Default Buying a GX470

Okay, I owned a 2006 Gx470. I sold it 1.5 years ago. I am in the market for a 2008 GX. I am considering a 14k mile 08 with only nav. I am also considering a 35k mile 08 with navi, dvd, spoiler which are options I want. Question is, for the same price what is best option? 35k mile is cpo. 14k is not. I am wondering if it's worth adding the options and forgoing the cpo for the 14k mile 08. Again price is essentially the same (about 40k). Thanks for the input

Get the one you want. Those engines will last over 200k if properly maintained.

Get the confidence of the CPO with the options you want. 35K miles is next to nothing.

Consider getting a Lexus extended warranty on your own; don't have to get CPO to get it. Seriously.

Just make sure the non-CPO is still under warranty (it should be) and buy the extended warranty.

It's available in a number of different versions, like 7/70 or 7/100.

Search on this site for the 2 or 3 Toyota / Lexus salespeople that sell this warranty WAY cheaper than your local dealer.

My choice would be the one with more miles and CPO. Reason I say this is because it has exactly what you want. Plus you will probably be going back to that dealer for service and I would think it would just be easier all around. The difference in miles is a non-issue.

CPO! I would rather buy the vehicle that's been driven on a regular basis (instead of sitting in the garage).

I would go for 14k miles. I dont care if its CPO or not. You can warranty on your own like somebody said. Less miles less tear and wear.

don't worry about the miles, i have 165k on mine and still runs strong just like it had 1 mile on it! you don't need the warranty, these trucks run forever!

Get the one with the options included. You would be surprised on the price to add them afterwards. Get the warranty yourself or through the money you would have paid for a warranty in the bank, that way if you dont use it(good possibility) you will have cash in hand.

I would go with the CPO because it is equipped exactly the way you want it. The one with 14k miles is nice as well but if you add those options then it makes the car much more expensive (40k plus your accessories). The CPO is just icing on the cake.

The GX is a great truck with not many problems. However, it is still a Lexus with LOTS of electronics and parts etc are not cheap. Not likely you would use the CPO on the GX but if you ever have a problem its already paid for with the CPO.

Both are great options but the CPO is a good bit cheaper if you think about all the options you want to add.

Good luck!

i lied... i checked just now. it's 170k. original engine, trans and rear air susp.

i replaced one of the air bag in the rear due to a service failure, tranny sensor was serviced/replaced few months ago. other than that, it runs like it has less than 20k miles.
