GPS Not Attaining Satellites **Pictures**
I got my dash replaced last week at Lexus of Mobile and I noticed that the GPS sometimes starts in a location 15 to 20 miles away from where the car is.
I can calibrate it, and it will work for a while, but after a day or so it starts in the wrong location.
I think the GPS is not getting satellites.
In the service menu...
... under "GPS," I notice that the Lat/Long and the time are incorrect. I also noticed that the overall status in the bottom left corner is "- -". All the satellites also show "-" as the status, and the text "Ensure nothing is blocking GPS reception" is at the top.
More info in the "Location" menu.
Any suggestions?

On step 2. Is the "nav check mode" one of my pics above? I don't see it referred to that way.
Regarding step 4, note my displayed "gps information" pic, is this the correct screen where the 'diagnosis system' check would be?
I don’t see a way to run any test from here...??
Thanks for your help

When you mention the "main menu screen" do you mean the screen that comes up when I press the hard "Menu" button. When I do that, I only have the options of
"Map Appearance"
"Volume"
"Setup"
"Marked Points"
I can not find the diagnosis anywhere...
I did not see the diagnosis under setup either.

Well, come to find out it was a broken antenna wire. When the dealer replaced the dash the antenna became disconnected ever so slightly.
On a different note, as I was trying to fix the GPS problem, I went into the "Load" menu and selected US-TSW . WHATEVER YOU DO, NEVER SELECT ANYTHING UNDER LOAD. It asks for a specific load disk that I can not find anywhere. I have talked to multiple dealerships and they all say that I have to purchase a new NAV ECU at $850.
I have found online that I can take the ECU apart and disconnect the watch battery inside the ECU to reset it. This should fix the problem and I may not have to purchase a new ECU. I will let you know how it goes.

Worked perfectly... If you ever get this screen...
You need to disconnect the battery, go under the passanger seat and disconnect all 4 wire harnesses from the NAV ECU. Pull out the NAV ECU and take the watch batter out of the motherboard inorder to reset the system. The battery is suspended in the air and has a yellow rubber cover around the outer edge. The battery is saudered in, so it is a little bit of a pain, but it is less of a pain than paying $850 for a new NAV ECU.
A little word to the wise, the dealer said that this would have been the first GX NAV ECU to ever go out on him. He says he sees a lot of RX NAV ECU's.

I have a NAV question. I have an 04 with NAV and wanted to upgrade the disk to a newer version with better graphics. Is it as easy as obtaining a newer version disk or am I stuck with the 04 graphics? Can you change the background colors and startup screen(the one that has the Lexus logo and than you have to hit "agree"

The disk will not change the graphics. It will only add roads and POI's.
You can get a hardware mod to get rid of the 'yes' screen. You will have to do a forum search for details.
I have not heard of anyone changing the startup screen.
