Need help with rear seat entertainment system
I'm new owner of 2003 GX and just tried to play a DVD in the rear seats for the first time. DVD loader is below glove compartment, passenger side, and monitors are in the headrests. Was able to get power on via the remote, and load the DVD, but could not get the rear screens to come on or the DVD to play. Perhaps the little white rear seat remotes weren't working? Is there another way to get it all going once the DVD is inserted? Couldn't find anything in our owners manual that explained.
Thanks again for all the help here.

Entertainment problem - can't get our's on either
2004 GX470 with rear DVD system (player is located between front seats). Power comes on and screens come on, but nothing seems to play and we don't know why (heck, that could almost be a song, couldn't it?).
Anybody have any ideas?

Hi guys,
New to this forum and also new owner of 03 GX470 with rear entertainment system.
We had to try few DVDs before it started working for us, old scratched up disks would not play in the car but they are fine in other portable and home theather players.
Try brand new DVD in it to see, if it is going to read it, since "check disk" would be disk error and "check DVD" would be player error.
You have to go through owner's manual few times to get the remote and your finger to do what you wish for.

Even the cleaner reads "check disc". The funny part is that the audio option only offers the headphone, it won't play anything (such as an external DVD player) through the car audio system. I think the factory mounted DVD player might be shot. I have to look up how to remove it from the console.
