AFAIK, that comes with the factory tow-prep package. Which includes that, as well as an additional cooler in front of the radiator.

Great Pricing on Lexus Parts!
FYI: I got the full OEM kit PT228-60540 for only $248.26 at:

It's a nice source for good pricing on Lexus OEM parts in general!

towing questions
So if we go with this hitch and the towing weight exceeds 5500 pounds what is everyones view of weight distribution hitch? - only for tongue weight over 550 pounds?

Does anyone still have the install instructions PDF? Sewell took them down.
Or if you remember the torque values for the bolts and if you used all of the shims (two sides and two centers)?

Shout out to OP for making this a breeze for me on the '08 GX470 over the weekend. Took me about 1 hour and saved a few hundred in cash. I look at this making the OEM hitch free given that there was no labor. Thanks, CL!

If you're not towing much weight, you can buy a hitch attachment that will bolt on the rear of the chassis . The holes are pre-drilled and tapped and the cutoout is for a class 3 hitch; There should also be a harness with the big plug receptacle back there on the drivers side. That indicates there is a wiring harness also. You won't be able to put the little access plate back on when the hitch is installed. I leave my hitch off when I'm not towing a small boat/trailer rig (about 750lbs) and install when I need it.

I just picked up a used oem hitch for my 08, but missing spacer plates.. Does anyone know the thickness of those plate? I'll just use washers in their place. I have the installation instructions and list of req'd bolts, just need the spacer thickness. Not towing with it but using it for bike rack.
