Pressing the 2nd S/w in the Glove Compatment, would not do anything, unless prior values are inputted into the ECM via the Tech stream tool ( which I am sure would have done initially) .The values are registered of both the main and the second set of tire pressure warning valve/sensor ID numbers in the TPWS ECU via the tool. Mostly the 2nd s/w are used snow tires. Sometimes the transmitters which are located on the rooftop becomes inoperative or go into sleep mode, they also can send signals to the ECM and you will the get Xmas lights on yr cluster. Suggest you go to to a dealer to resolve it or get to the nearest autozone and pull out the fault codes.

If you are talking about the tire sensor, it is part of the value steam. That means you would have to remove the tire from the rim. 20+ years ago in High School Auto Shop, the teacher showed us how to do it the old fashion way and what I remember, it was a pain. I would sooner go to Goodyear or Firestone.
If you are talking about the senor that detects the sensor in the tire, well....I don't know. Sorry.

I will explain the First part, for locating it and replacing it.
. The Tire pressure Sensor are located within the Tire wheel wall ( inner ) of course tire rim. They are in a T shape, an sample image is below attached. These are attached with a silicone resin, You hv to be careful in removing with a small jack knife. Ensure you don't deform the plate, as there is a inner transmitter which is the most important part of this valve sensor. If they are already deformed prior to your removal, that means one reason they are dead, if any dust particles are stuck to it, means again you have to replace. if there are fine cracks , time to replace.
Second reason is the Sensor can very good, but all one need is to replace the Lithium battery which needs to be replaced, then the sensor would talk to the tire px receiver assy and the ECU. This is one part where you have the pre-warning. There are 4 Tire pressure receivers that are attached to each wheel struts. They are boxy in shape held by two bolts. And the ECU is located close to the Sun roof.
The removal of tire px sensors is a bit tricky and delicate, Need to remove the Valve caps, and release Air completely. you need to loosen the sensor nut and washer which is holding in by completely loosening it and dropping in it within the tire. There is a small bead which hold it, ensure to disengage it using the shoe of the tire remover. Thats it. The fixing is just easy, you will get hold of it once the removal stage is over. let me know if need any help i will help you go thru the fix
I hope this helps.

Thanks Mann,
this is great info. it's hard to believe that the plate is deformed while resting inside the air. i'll try playing with pressure somemore (per pearlpower comment) before tacking with technical of replacing it.
