How to remove 4WD shift wood trim?
Is it easy to remove the wood trim piece that holds the 4WD boot and suspension controls? I've had a noise that's bugged me for years - the squeeking between the shift boot and the shifter mechanism particularly when the engine is cold. I discovered that the boot can be released by pushing down around the edges - I put a couple of pieces of gaffers tape to separate the squeek - but now I can't see an easy way to get the boot back up and seated in the trim plate without loosening the plate so I can push up from below.
Would this procedure be shown in the GX470 factory manauls? I was thinking of getting those anyway because I have a few others projects / installs in mind.
