Default '03 GX470 Navi. wont go into Night Mode

Hello All,

I just bought a GX470 with Nav. and for some reason it wont go into night mode. I reset all the settings, but it still wont work right.

Any suggestions? Has anyone had this issue?

Thanks

There is a dimmer dial on the lower left side of the dash. This will raise or lower your dash lights. If the dial is turned all the way up it will stay on day mode. You can feel it click when it is in day mode. Just click down and you are good to go.

I tried to lower the dimmer yesterday, but it still didnt make a difference, it was still stuck in day mode.

Is there something else I can try?

If I remove the battery for a few minutes, will that reset everything?

Check your settings in the NAV menu, there is an option for setting which map colors are being displayed in day and night mode. If someone has set the day map for the night mode, that's what you get.

I think you have to click on menu -> options, 4th page (if my memory serves me right)

Default Did you ever figure this out?

I have the same issue. It is not the dimmer, nor is it the color option. My headlights turn on at night, so the light sensor seems to be working properly.

Start the Diagnosis system go to Menu, then select Navigation Check, Then choose Color Bar Check, You need to make sure the set color matches the display color,Compare with the Color Bar check in the display check and make sure no difference is found. It should be First Black /Red / Green/Blue/White. Hope this helps.
