Forgive my ignorance on this, but is the VAIS avail for an 05 w/ NAV, and how much does it cost to have a dealer install it?
I have never been interested but my g/f just got into the iPod thing, so....

The standard AUX input (which I wish I had on my 06 and somehow was even left off the 07RX!) is just a standard analog audio input. It doesn't know or care what you feed in, and does not have any two way communication.
Basically, it is the same as when I plug the IPOD audio into my 20 or 30 year old boomboxes or receiver amplifiers - analog sound out from the IPOD earphone jack and straight into the amplifier.

plug your iPod into the AUX plug on the center dash next
to the seat heater controls, right?"
Sorry guys I guess I didn't really know exactly what I had since
I just got the '09 vehicle. I just went and took these pics and the
dealer did install the Vais IPOD unit. I plug my IPOD into a
connector in my glove box. So thats why my steering wheel controls work?

How is your Vaistech Ipod interface working out? Any issue with it so far?
Has ANYONE bought the LEXUS IPOD interface yet and had it installed on their GX? I cant believe no-one has
