Default Got my New GX...!!!

Hey there all,

Just bought a brand new 2008 GX, Silver with Grey interior. Fully loaded. LOVE IT. Looked at almost everything else on the road but just kept coming back to the GX. Just loved the way it drove. My first choice would have been the LX570 but the price is just ridiculous. Got a good deal on my GX and couldn't be happier.

My wife is pregnant with our first children. Identical twin girls. Wanted something that had the size to do family things on the weekends, vacation etc. She is currently driving a Dodge Nitro but is looking into the Mini-Van solution for her daily driver.

We got it with the Rear Entertainment System for the kids etc... I want to bypass the Park Break/Speed Sensor. I have seen the thread on this forum detailing the Swithed/non-Switched bypass. this does not indicate if it will work on a 2008 unit, it just sais it works on the 2007. I have also looked at the Lockpick 3, but they claim that it also only works on the 2007 model and not the 2008.

I was under the impression the 2007/2008 were the same NAV units? are they not?

Thanks for any info,

Gromet

Congrats on the new car and the twins! We love having the GX as our family car. It seems like such a step up from our Mercedes ML. Now when I am driving the ML, I notice how inferior the quality is to the GX. The rattles and the loud road noise was never noticed in the ML until we compared it to the GX. The kids (5yr and 2yr old) love the rear entertainment system. The third row has come in handy more than once. Good Luck!

Nevermind, I got my answer...

Did the 2008 GX Nav Bypass this weekend and it worked perfectly. Very easy, snip and ground one wire, snip the other and your done. Love it. I can watch movies either from my front DVD changer or from the rear entertainmant system on the fron screen while in motion.

Thanks anyway....

Congrats all around! We have a 2-year old and a 5-month old, and the GX has been a great vehicle for us. We have taken a couple long trips, and it works out very well for trucking around all the baby stuff in addition to being a very comfortable ride. It is an especially easy vehicle to load/unload kids & carseats, which is important when you've got two.

The only issue we have experienced is that a rear-facing (infant) carseat doesn't fit if the front seat is as far back as it will go, due to the short distance between the rows when the front seats are fully back. Our front passenger seat is only about halfway back as a result, but as long as I'm driving, this is no big deal. You figure out what works, and the vehicle's positives far outweigh this single issue.
