The 2010 5th gen NAV update DVD is now on its way (my 2007 GX470 has never had the maps updated, from what I can tell!). How do you get to the bypass menu once you install the new DVD?

1. Visit Sewell Lexus' online site, which is very informational. (Or, buy from someone else...)
2. Order the correct DVD.
3. Eject old DVD; insert new DVD.
4. Send back old DVD to Sewell for rebate.
5. Enjoy "new" POIs and roads.

Dale - "Search" is your friend. Otherwise, pick up the phone and call Sewell @ (800) 352-8108.

A few important things:

Get the disk from the dealer. As "PiggyPiggy" noted, 10.1 is the latest.

The NAV disk is under the passenger seat.

It is easy to get to and update.

The vehicle has to be turned on and STAY on during the update.

Once you update, the system cannot be downgraded to the old version, so no need to keep the old disk, or sell it on Ebay to someone who damaged theirs.

Calibration can be done by the owner as stated above. SImple, just read the instructions in the owner's manual.

It is not worth updating too often and the update, while released annually in November, the satellite images are usually taken back in the summer. If you are looking at getting updates on highways or roads that are recent, keep this in mind.

I just purchased a used 2004 Lexus GX470. The navigation is ridiculously more complicated than my 2001 LX470 I just traded in. There was a problem with the navigation when I test drove it and so Texas Direct Auto replaced something. The screen shots in the manual don't match up with what is in the car when I was setting the home address. I suspect they replaced the navigation system with something other than 2004 parts. Any insight on how I cave verify exactly what I have now. The info displayed says dvd map info: version 04.02. I want to update the maps, but I want to be sure I don't buy the wrong update. Any helpers out there would be really appreciated.

I have a question: If you upgrade to the latest disc with a Gen4 (SC430 2005) will it remove the I AGREE button? Thanks in advance.
