vibrating noise and through pedal
anyone experienced a vibration through their gas pedal while off roading. On flat surfaces or slightly rough surfaces the vibration does not occur. Only when going through somewhat deep areas of mud did this vibration happen. I could hear it ouside the car and feel it through the pedal. Can anyone help me with this. I have a 2004 non KDSS.

Was the center diff locked? If not, I would suspect the torsion center diff or some kind of torsion or limited slip front diff (if you have one). If the center diff was locked, I don't think it would be the center diff.

tigmd99 when i was in a somewhat deep spot and not getting much movement when pressing the gas there was some kind of griding noise and feeling through the pedal. It didnt sound like anything good. Im not sure how to check this out to see what it is.

I agree with my friend, sounds like normal traction control kicking in. It can sound horrible but it works great.

Did it sound a lot like clicking and "springing"?? If so, then it's all good. ATRAC noises always get people the first time they hear it...it's an uneasy feeling. The problem is that many people let go of the gas pedal when they hear/feel this. Just keep applying constant pressure on the gas pedal and let the system get you through the muck!

It did sound somewhat like springing and grinding but i could feel it through the gas pedal and Im pretty sure the noise was only comming from the drivers side. It sounds bad but hopefully its a good thing.
