Default Has anyone applied the 3M paint protection kit to their GX?

Just curious if anyone had done this or rec. it? I have heard great things about doing it but one of the Lexus parts managers said that sometimes the film starts to turn dingy. Any thoughts from anyone who has had this done or is thinking about doing so?

I've got a 2004 with it and it was applied when new. It still looks great and has saved the paint a few times from renegade rocks. I'd recommend it.

That sounds great. Would you guys mind sharing with me the total costs of installation?

I also have it on my 06 truck and it still looks great. Mine was installed at the dealer for about $550. As a protectant I use plastic X to clean the film after a wash, this gives it a nice smooth shiny look. This is a well worth mod!!

I have definitely decided to have this done. Where do you buy the plastic X stuff?

Smile 3 M looks great

I just had the 3 M film put on our new 2007 GX470. It looks great, you can't even tell it is on the vehicle from three feet away. Total cost out the door was $450, VEGASMILDTOWILD.COM was who installed the film, great job. You don't want someone who is a rookie putting this film on. It took almost 7 hours from start to finish to complete the job. He did not even take a lunch break. We are real happy with the film and in Las Vegas rocks are a big worry.

3M is GOOD but becarefull and make CERTAIN that your installer uses REAL 3M. Many of the clearbra installers use lower quality stuff. We had the 3M on our 2004 and it never faded or dis-colored.

I got it done and it looks amazing. I can not even tell it is there and now the bugs just brush off.

Sorry for the delay in responding but the recommended protectant I use is called Plastic X aka Plexus. This product is basically a proctectant for plastics and film. I use it on my clear bra and headlamps. I bought mine at driversseat.com

Congrats and good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I understand that 3M has some products as well. Have you used any of those?
