DVD upgrade Gx470
I heard that you get 1? navigation upgrade if you purchased a navigation system w/ your vehicle. Is this true? If not than how much do they run and does anyone know of a site that sells them??
Maybe, a current owner not in need of their latest upgrade would be willing to sell?

Unless Lexus changed their policy very recently, the answer is no, you don't get any free upgrades. It's up to you to make sure your new vehicle comes with the latest disc when you buy it. I don't think the 2006 update is out quite yet, so 2005 is still the latest. Usually they come out around September. So a new 2007 vehicle could still have a 2005 disc in it.
You also can't upgrade from one nav system generation to the next with software alone. All you get when buying an "update disc" is new map and POI data. You can't ever add features to make your system act like a newer generation.
You can buy the update disc from the dealer or Internet-based Lexus parts retailers for $250-$300. You can also buy them on eBay, but buyer beware. Make sure you're getting the correct update disc (NOT a "program disc") for your model year/nav system generation.

I purchased my gx in August 03. My sales agent said we would get 2 free map updates while we owned our Lexus. When the 2005 update came out we went to the dealer, where our sales agent no longer works, and found out that we do not get 2 free updates. After talking to the sales manager we agreed to purchase 1 later if he gave us the 2005 update now. We now have the 2005 update with no out of pocket expense. If they ever say anything that sounds too good to be true get it in writing.
