I had that same issue, the gray part of the grill just looked worn and chipped. I went to the walmart and grabbed a can of plastidip-black and just refinished the grill. I'll post pictures later, but I feel it looks much better and for 6.99, you can't beat the price.

Thank you! I saw that request for the paint color last year while browsing the forum (originally posted in 2006) and no responses. Every time I look at the grill, I want to do something to get those chips minimized. Mike

I've been contemplating to plastidip my grill. Look forward to seeing the pictures and how it turned out.
How difficult was it to take out the grill?

The grill was simple to remove, pop the hood and you will see the nuts to remove, you will have to remove the two that hold the hood release, again, easy.

I chose not to peel the plastidip from the chrome crossbars, it would be easy enough to do, but I liked the way it turned out.

Here are the pics:

That looks awesome. I did this to one of my other cars, and will plan on doing the same to my GX. I also got pearl white so it should look just like yours. Did you remove the emblem or peeled off paint after you sprayed? Do you have pictures from a distance that shows the whole car?

Just taped the center emblem with blue painters tape.

I'll take pictures from a distance later today.

My grille is looking a bit worn as well, I'm going to put this on my list of things to do...which just keeps getting longer instead of shorter it seems, lol.

A great look. I like the contrast between the emblem and the background. I tried the black pearl emblem on the stock grill with the chrome cross members, and I thought it looked washed out. I like yours much better.

I'll probably do it this weekend. Not sure if I want to keep the crossbar chrome or paint those too like yours. Leaning more towards later.

Well, the good thing about the plastidip is; you paint the entire thing like mine, and then if you don't like it, just peel off the coating over the chrome crossbars.
