Default Buzz from speakers when listening to AM radio

but does not seem to impact CD's or FM. Anyone else have this isse? Any solutions? Is there anything about AM radio that specifically would cause my speakers to buzz?
Thanks

Bad reception from the mast antenna.

AM radio seems to be highly prone to interference from the electronics on the vehicle, powerlines, or other sources of EM radiation. Part of the problem might be the way the vehicle was designed, but AM is also prone to interference.

Does it do the same thing in other vehicles when you are in the same area?

Turn your AM radio down to the lowest frequency, turn the volume on the speakers up a bit, and I'll bet you can hear the buzz increase in frequency as the engine RPM goes up. This doesn't help you really, it just shows how easily AM picks up interference.

Mast antenna???? I guess I got cheated out of one of those old fashioned antennas sticking out of the fender or quarter panel. Thats one of the reasons why I got the GX, I hate vehicles that have a mast antenna. Those things went out in the 70's.

I started getting static when using AM after installing FM modulators. I installed VaisTech, eliminated the modulators and the noise went away. My wife was delighted!!

I am sorry; I miss posted, I meant to say the poor AM reception may be due to the in glass antenna. Those old-fashioned mast antennas may look ugly, but they actually have better reception for AM radio. AM is lower frequency than FM and wavelength is longer. The long mast antenna captures that long wavelength much better. Personally, I wouldn't be buy a car with a mast antenna now a days, I rather not listen AM instead, or maybe subscribe to satellite radio.
