I heard recently from a dealer that you can no longer buy aditional miles at .10 upfront in a lease say from 12K/year to 20K/year on the 36 0r 39 month Lexus leases. Rather the extra mileage charge is now .25 for excessive mileage for vehicles costing more than $40,000 but less than $55,000. ? Does anyone know if this is accurate on the GX 470? Thanks

Yes the excess mileage charge is $0.25 per mile on Lexus GX 470. Said so on my lease.

If I understand you question correctly, I think you can still buy the miles up-front in a lease. You still have the choice of 10k/12k/15k miles per year on a 3 year lease. I don't know exactly what that equates to in $ per mile, but is is much cheaper than paying for extra miles at the end of the lease.

I may be completely misunderstanding your question, but I bought one truck at 12k/year and the one we take on vacations and road trips was leased at 15k/year and we come very close to those limits at the end of the lease. I went over on my last BMW and traded it in to avoid the $3000 in excess mile charges (only took a $1200 hit on the trade, better than turning it in and taking the full charge).
