Default owners w/o 3rd row seats

attention owners of GX470's w/o 3rd row seats - do you find some vents missing that come w/ third row seats?

am interested in buying a 470 w/o 3rd row seats and i want to make sure that i'm not missing out on anything else.

Thanks,
gx470wanna.

The rear vents come only with 3rd row seating for rear passenger comfort as per Brochure and Salesperson without the 3rd row seating option you will NOT have the vents, but you do gain coat/clothing hooks and you also gain the "tourneau" cover that pulls out and hides contents of trunk...

Good Luck...

Yep, I could not have said it better. The more room and the privacy cover are worth it, as well as not having to find someplace to store the worthless 3rd row seats.

Its a crying shame they force the third row seat on you by virtue of rear air. Those third row seats are for dogs only.

Default rear air

When you say rear air, do you mean rear air for the 2nd row. Meaning, if I don't get the 3rd row seats, I won't get air (either in the center or side over-head) for the 2nd row passengers? This is actually want I want to confirm. I can't seem to find a GX w/o 3rd row to see what it looks like.

Thanks.

If you do not have the 3rd row seats, then you only get air from the front and under the front seats. I have not had any problems with that, but then again I usually do not have anyone in the back. When I do no one has complained. Hope that helps.

Just got back from a 3500 mile trip to and from Mazatlan, Mexico. I rode in the center row for much of the trip. First time ever riding in the back.

Lemme tell you, if it hadn't been for the Rear Air, the ride would not have been as pleasurable.

Default thanks

thanks for you comments...

I really want the air to the 2nd row but don't want the third seat... I guess I can always remove them.

There is second row "rear" air in almost vehicle on the market today. I can guarantee you that the GX has some type of second row air under the driver and passenger bucket seats that blow on the passengers legs in the rear along with the front vents push air to the back seats also. My 94 Grand Cherokee has rear air and the 5.9 Grand Cherokee had rear air in 4 spots if my memory serves me correctly. So believe me... with or without the 3rd row you will have rear air. If you want to check it out and see if it has rear air just reach under the front buckets from the back and see if you feel a plastic tube. If you dont feel it there then reach along side the center console inbetween the front bucket and the console and you should find it. It is normally directly under the front seats, but sometimes it is along the side the console. Good Hunting

Oh yeah... the other way is to just turn on the AC and crank it up then feel under the driver and passenger buckets. You should feel some air coming out from those areas along with from the front dash.
