What's your suspension setting of choice? Personally I prefer "mostly sport". I may just be used to our RX and it may change later to more cushy. I dunno... What EMS setting have you guys settled on?

I usually set mine to position 2 (mostly comfort). At full comfort the truck feels under damped over bumps at higher speeds. On the sport mode however the car feels really jittery over the minute bumps but the truck feels rock solid at higher speeds. I drove my GX at Willow Springs last year and I was amazed how stable it was at high speeds. I was going through bumpy turn 8 at 95mph and turn 9 at 80mph at full throttle and it was the VSC which keeps spoiling my fun even when I was in total control. Too bad you can't switch off Maybe I'll try locking the center diff next time. hehehe

With my 03, I always left it in setting two. Semi Comfort. But with the 04 and KDSS I always leave it in comfort.

The KDSS no longer allows the vehicle to bottom out in the rear even in the softest setting and the handling is always strong.

With the KDSS option you can use the suspension comfort setting for exactly what it was intended for. Comfort. Not handling.

To add to that. The only reason I use a stiffer settting is if I go off road.

You might be joking, but just for the heck of it, here's my comment.

Do not turn the center differential lock on when driving on hard pavement. It can and will cause damage. The front and rear wheels are supposed to be able to travel at different speeds. This is not possible with the Cent Diff ON and something has to give. Certainly the wheels will drag over the pavement, but over time, this incredible stress on the drive components will promote excessive wear and tear.

Thank you for comments. I'm aware of the drive line stress by driving with the center diff. locked. I actually drove it locked for a few corners few weeks ago, I didn't do 90° turns just smooth 40mph sweeping turns. And the truck understeers ready bad because the power split is locked at 50/50. Whereas when it's unlocked the torsen LSD splits the torque 40% front and 60% rear on straight line driving and during cornering it gives the rear wheels even more torque to reduce understeer.

Can KDSS can be added to an existing 2004? Is it true that you have to give up the Towing pkg. if you want KDSS?

I wasn't aware that the Torsen Differential actually adjusted based on speed and turn inputs to give you better handling around turns. That's good to know.

KDSS can be added but it's a lot of work. The front and rear frame has additional brackets welded on them for the hydraulic unit and the KDSS has it's own computer and additional sensors. It's really not worth converting. It's just better to get one with the KDSS from the beginning or just live with out it like me

My post didn't quite make it. You cannot add KDSS as a dealer option afterwards. I don't know of any 3rd party manufacturers that can install it. Civic says it is possible but not worth it. I tend to agree. If it is possible, the cost would far exceed selling your existing 04 w/o and buying a new 04 with (including depreciation).

huh, i put mine on full comfort. that's the reason why i picked Lexus over BMW!

but I turn it into sport on really windy mountain roads, just to keep it from leaning
into the curves so much.

off roading... on the softest possible setting, that way the wheels are bumping around,
not me in the driver's seat.

I have it on #2 also. Even with this setting, It's amazing how stable it corners and handle
