Getting ready to purchase a GX. Anyone know (with some certainty) when the '05 will be in US delearships? Trying to decide whether to wait for the '05? thanx!!!

I have done a little checking and it depends on who you talk to. I have heard anywhere from late Sept to late Oct. IMO waiting would be smart: more powerful engine, bluetooth, KDSS w/tow, alleged Sport pkg and finally you have a year newer vehicle with hopefully all the 'bugs' worked out. Oh, some have said they might add/subtract color options......but who knows.....

I just ordered a 05 4Runner V8 limited about a week ago. They stopped 04 4runner production this week, and the first 05 4runners are expected to be here in about 3 months. Seeing as how the GX and 4runner are made on the same platform in the same factory, I'd assume they switch model years about the same time. Anyhow... they're definitely able to take orders for both now.

Threxx, you're in for a wait. The 2005 4Runners with V6 engines should start arriving in about two months but V8 4Runners are delayed until November/December because of the new VVTi V8 engine. You better have your dealer check with his region to confirm.

Oh well... it'll be worth the wait. Not to mention my fiance doesn't even have much of a reason to be driving a new car until she's graduated from school, and that doesn't happen until early/mid-december. Until its delivered she has a perfectly good relatively new Honda Accord to tide her over.

2005 Changes
I'm looking to acquire a GX470 and trying to decide if I should wait for the 05. I spoke to my dealer here in Texas today and they claim that the only change taking place is the new 270 Hp engine. Curious if anyone knows if Lexus plans to add HID's. I know that the Barn Door is staying but would really like to have HID's as other cars in this class have them.
