Baby Car Seats
Hi! I am in the process of registering for my baby shower and was wondering what infant and convertible car seats are compatible with the GX470 as I can't find this info anywhere?
I am interested in the Graco Snug Ride and then the Britax Roundabout....has anyone had success with either of these? ease of installation? Thanks....Corinne

Corinne,
I'm not a huge fan of the Britax...my sister has it and I hate putting it in the car for her. The infant carrier is difficult at best, to put in without a little bit of wobble (in any car). Rear facing baby seats in general are difficult to install even with L.A.T.C.H. because of the angle that they get pulled into the seat...ideally there shoud be some way to tether them to the floor (while rear facing) to keep it from tilting back into the seat too easily. It does get better when you flip them to forward facing though, again, on the Britax, not a huge fan forward facing, because I think the base wiggles too much.
We used the Graco infant carrier (thru 2 kids) and have Evenflo Medallion V convertible seats. My oldest is now in a booster and it is a Britax and it seems okay, but then again he's strapped in with a seatbelt now, not the child seat harness.
Once you do get the seats though check in with your local police department, they should have officers trained in checking baby seeat installations, and can instruct you on how to do it your self. Also, get to know the limitations of the seat as your kid(s) grow so that you know when it is appropriate to move to forward facing, positioning of the harness etc. These are all critical in making sure the seat is as safe as possible for your child.
Oh yeah - Welcome to CL!
