A/C on recirculate and outside fumes are entering the cab
I have a problem with fumes from my engine and the fumes of other cars in front of me entering the closed cab from the AC when it is in the recirculate mode. Has anyone experienced this problem? I have also noticed when I hit the gas hard I get the converter smell in the AC . The AC is in the recirculate mode.
any thoughts...

I remember reading some posts about sulfur smell. I haven't had the problem but I would guess that it is caused by an exhaust leak somewhere in the engine compartment. You might want to make a search for "sulfur smell" or such.

AC recirculate answer
Just met with the master tech. He said the recirculate mode does not cut off the outside air 100% he said fresh( or toxic) is still mixed in because of a regulation. (BS). He did tell me that the damper for the recirculate mode has a very porus foam gasket and that is what lets in the outside air on recirculate. off the record he said if the rubber gasket was changed to a non porus foam it would solve the problem but said it is not possible for lexus to do it because of the regulation that calls for a mix of fresh (or sulfer) to enter the cab on recirculate mode. Does anyone have a modification for the damper so we can solve the exhaust in the cab problem? It looks like lexus would rather poison us with sulfer and exhaust fumes than stand up to the EPA and fix the problem.
