Default What Paint for Hitch?

My GX hitch is starting to rust a little from all the fun winter driving I get to do in Minnesota. I would like to touch up some of the rusty spots with some black paint. Anybody done this before, what kind of paint did you use and were you happy with the results?

Thanks!
Doug

You can use product call plasti dip ( I think that's how you spell) you can buy at Lowes. It's a spray for rusty spots.

I completely removed mine to paint it.

I hit it with a wire wheel on a drill, then just primed and painted it with Rustoleum spray. That was over a year ago and it still looks good.

How big of a PITA was it to remove the thing? I haven't taken a look at mine, but assume we're not talking about a 5 minute job here.

Assuming you have the '06 listed in your signature, I think your receiver is different from the one on my '03.

Mine was kind of a PITA to remove and re-install, and I probably wouldn't do it again.
