Default Bluetooth Phone Volume

I have a 2009 GX 470 and have found that people I call from the car say the volume is very low, making it hard for them to hear me. In the car, their voice comes in as loud as I want since I can adjust it on the dash. Outgoing volume isn't adjusted at the same time!
If I put my mouth very close to the mike in the sunglasses holder, they say my volume becomes normal. Hard to drive that way!
My cell is a Blackberry Storm. Car and cell are brand new.
My question - how can I adjust outgoing sound levels to make me heard on the receiving end? Could the mike just be defective?

Hi
I'm working on a Issue with my Blackberry as well. I have the Blackberry Bold, and everything works fine except my car speakers don't ring when I am receiving a incoming call, sound system shuts off shows I have incoming call, but no ring. I'm wandering if it is the Blackberrys not totally communicating with the system. Nobody has given me any answers yet, I am waiting to hear from Lexus on the matter. You may have to do the same.
Keep us posted on what you find out.
Robert

I've had the same issues with my 08 and iPhone g3. I've talked to Lexus and they know about this issue and don't plan to do anything about it.

Yep.....almost everyone says they can hear me, but I sound like I'm in a tunnel.

If anyone finds a work-around for the "gotta come to a stop" to end hands-free
on the 2009 please let me know......i hate that soooooooooo much!

try this:
Turn Ignition "on"
Press Info button and hold while you turn the headlights on and off 4 times
A menu appears. Click the menu button and go to Bluetooth settings and adjust the voice quality setting

Good info Sickntired, thank you for sharing. I tried it as well and although I don't have any problem with my bluetooth, there's always room for improvement.

WoW. Impressed very much. I have 2007 GX470 and had to turn lights on and off only 3 times. I guess every year is different. However I noticed that besides coming sound box and leaving sound box, there is 3rd box and dial keypad. Anybody aware of what is this 3rd key pod for?

Also, when I set destination in my NAVI, I can't hear announcement if music is too loud. Only One speaker, driver's side, is muting radio and transfers NAVI sound. Any body knows how to adjust sound either to make driver's side speaker make louder announcements or mute all speakers at the time NAVI's announcement is being made.

Thank you.

I did this procedure a while back. It is the correct solution to the OP complaint. The outgoing volume on mine was set at 0 from the factory I believe, and I turned it up to +3. I also turned up the incoming volume to +2, so I had better control to the voices coming in through the bluetooth. (I always had it turned up to the max, so this gave me some wiggle room, and now I leave it set at 2 notches below max volume on the dash).

I have the same problem with my T-Mobile G1 phone. Hope this trick works on my '05 GX. I'll try it tonight.

Another problem I have is that you cannot add phone numbers manually to the GX phone book. You have to send from the phone, which is a problem because the G1 phone cannot transmit files via bluetooth. Hopefully they will come out with an app or firmware update for this phone. Anyone else have this problem?

Glad the bluetooth thing is resolved.

The iphone also can't send #'s to the GX phone book Apparently neither Apple nor Lexus are interested in fixing it.

Thanks for the tip "Sickntired!" Tryed it last night and it made a difference. It also proves that it works on '05 GX models for anyone else having this issue.
