Default Wish list on re-designed GX470

What would you like on your all new re-designed GX?

I'd like 20" standard wheels and bigger tires, power hatch-back type rear door opening (hate unloading stuff when parked parallel/not a tail-gating party friendly rear door either on ours now), led lights, power rear glass, more efficient V8 engine.

How about you?

Exclamation Thread Stuck

I know we have done these wish lists before, but times move on and an update is a good idea.

I am stickying this thread so hopefully everybody will comment. After it is up for a while, we can put up a few polls on the most talked about wishes.

Power rear vent windows, more thigh support on front seats, a little more HP, power fold flat 3rd row & HID & LED lights.

I will have to add those to my list. Good ones, Jugdish specially fold flat 3rd row... wish Lexus can also do something about the elevated floor on the 3rd row. Almost bought a Mazda CX-9 over my 03CPOGX for those... but you know what, I am real glad I sticked to my instinct and went for the GX... I never regretted my decision and got happier its time I drive my GX...I've always been a truck fan... not one of those Xover or crossover or minivan like trucks vice versa watchumacallit thing... exactly that one

I wish for a simple power fold in side view mirrors, smart key ignition.

Good idea! But I really doubt that Toyota will even consider doing it. RAV4 2 door was such a failure here in the state side.

I want to see Common rail Diesel Turbo version of GX along with the new 5.7 V8.

Styling that is different from the new LX.

  • A V8 Turbo Diesel (Dare to Dream)
  • Replace the John Deere inspired shift-gate with a manumatic
  • Wheels no larger than 18", to ensure AT tire selection
  • Concur on more thigh support on a longer seat bottom
  • Increase the suspension travel -- significantly
  • Redesign the rear suspension
  • Offer a head-rest DVD system similar to the LR RRS's
  • Redesign the third-row seats, copy the LR LR3 -which is better than some minivans

- Power rear vent windows and power up/down tailgate window (like on 4Runner & Sequoia)
- Cooled seats
- iPod integration (menu, etc available through stereo controls or nav screen)
- Longer rear cargo area (would also help 3rd row seat legroom)
- Hybrid engine option
- Center console armrest
- Change tailgate to lift instead of swing door
- Push-button start

*Tailgate from 4Runner with the power down window

*Bigger / panaramic sunroof

*HID's

*Rear diff lock

*A more traditional/useful center console with more storage and deeper cup holders

*At least 5 more inches of 3rd row leg room

*Steering wheel mounted cruise control switches (not a stalk hanging underneath)

*Change the 2nd row from tunble forward design to one that has the seat bottom pivot up so the back side can fold flat which would give roughly an extra foot of cargo length over current design (however this may be a problem for accessing 3rd row?)

No, I'd rather keep the solid rear axle. They could just stretch the body another 5 inches and move the seats 5 inches further back. I don't even mind if they use the same 3rd row design that flips up sideways. The independent rear suspension would probably only be necessary for a design that folds down into the floor like on the 3rd row of the MDX.
