Default TSB out for clunk

FYI -

I went to my dealer today and my service advisor noted that there was a TSB released by Lexus today for the clunking driveshaft. I asked him what it entailed, and he mentioned many parts like rear connecting links and so forth... not simply "lube the driveshaft".

We'll see, as more info becomes available. Maybe Lexus finally stepped up to the plate to provide a real solution.

Thanks, I just bought a 2006 GX around August 1. Do you think that I will have this problem?

The TSB covers models through 2006 so if you experience the clunk down the road, set up an appointment at your nearest dealership for the fix. Make sure that they have all the parts required prior to dropping off your GX.

If you're looking for the actual TSB, the link was provided by "The G Man" on 5/26. Good Luck!

Is this cover under the factory warranty?? This is a manufacture defect so they should cover it, right??

Just had the new fix installed yesterday (under warranty). Guess we will see if it fixes the problem permanently.

Please keep us updated. How long did it take to put in the new drive shaft?

The installation didn't take long. I dropped the vehicle off late Friday and had it back before noon on Saturday. This was the first one for my dealership here in Dallas so I'd guess with experience subsequehnt installations would be even quicker.

I am now on some sort of waiting list for the new drive shaft and whatever else they are replacing under the latest TSB.

My service advisor told me that Lexus only sent their dealership 3 of the new drive shafts. He wasn't sure why Lexus did not send more to all of the dealerships to start with.

Oh well, if any of you get the new parts, let me know if you notice any difference!

Did you ever get an answer on where to find the TSB for the clunking? I'm assuming TSB means "Toyota Service Bulletin" and I found a posting that said the number is "DL001-06" but I can't find the bulletin.

I have the problem in my 2004 Toyota 4 runner and it's terrible. It feels like we get rear ended each time we stop.

Where do I go to find this service bulletin?

Help.

Thanks
