The Parrot Effect: Ride quality suffers beacuse it is body-on-frame

I always have this conversation with friends. I think since the journalists drive so many different vehicles they are able to compare notes and decide whether a car handles better or worse versus other vehicles in that segment. For most people this doesn’t apply since not everybody gets to drive every car in that segment. What is a bad handler/boring to them may be totally different to the average buyer.
I also think after reading the professional reviews most people end up believing 0-60, braking, and skid pad numbers are all that matter. Lexus cars get bashed in auto forums and comments sections all the time for their boring manner or their .02 second slower 0-60 mph times but we know better. We get comfortable ride and a peace of mind due to its reliability.
