Default Questions on 2017 GX 460 Sport Design

I am planning to upgrade my base 2014 GX 460 to a new 2017 GX 460 Premium with the sport package design.
I like everything about it except the rear taillights.

* Does anyone know if I swap out my clear 2014 GX taillights to the new one(I think its called scarlet red or something), if it will be a perfect fit?
* Are the bulbs placed in different location inside the taillight housing for the sport design GX compared to the regular GX that has the clear taillights?
* Also this vehicle(its currently being transported from another dealership) has the captains' chairs. Does it mean the passenger capacity is only 6?(is the 3rd row seating arranged differently as in seating for 3 on the GX's that are equipped with captains' chairs?)

Also what are you guys' thoughts on the appearance of clear vs the red scarlet taillights?
Any feedback will be appreciated!

Welcome to CL...

I can't really help you in regards to if your current taillights will fit the 2017, I believe they will, but not 100% sure. If it was me, I would leave the the lights that come with the 2017 SDP. But then again, I like the scarlet red lights so it's an easy decision for me.

Regardless of bench seat or captains seats in the second row, the third row will be the same regardless..

Please post pics when you get it, this may be our next Lexus too..

BTW, what color are you considering?

The tail light swap should not be any problem. Looks like the color is the only thing changed (again).

Past swap thread.

I haven't seen the scarlet taillights, but I'm sure they look good. But then again I have a 2011 so I don't mind the red

Personally I would not spend the money to swap taillights. Even if you do it yourself, it's going to be several hundred dollars in parts.

Thx for all the feedback guys.
I also asked the dealership to throw in some door edge guards in silver lining metallic color(thought it would be a good contrast to the nebula gray color I'm getting).
I did notice a Onyx colored GX 460 at the dealership with the sport design package & it looked really good with the scarlet red taillights.
But I think clear ones would look better on a nebula gray colored GX 460.
I guess I'll make my final decision once the vehicle arrives and I can actually see in person how it might look.
Otherwise, the dealership will swap out my clear ones on my current 2014 GX 460 to the new one I'm getting without any warranty-void trouble.
I'll post pics once I receive the vehicle along with the final discounted price I'll be getting(getting roughly over 7k off sticker from the numbers we crunched but I haven't signed the final paperwork yet until vehicle arrives).

2016 GS F, Nebula Gray / Circuit Red
2014 GX 460, Knights Armor / Black Nuluxe
