I'm having the same problem, and my GX is only about 1.5 years old. My driver seat has butt indentations, and the cushion on the back rest is not as resilient either. I am a very light person at 135 pounds.

I do not have any wear on the sides of the seat like in the original poster's pictures because I use the handle on the pillar to lift myself up and over the edge of the seat when exiting.

Having said all that, I believe the dealerships are wrong in saying this is normal wear and tear. I have a friend with a 2009 IS 250 with 80K, and his driver seat shows zero wear. I also drove a 2006 GS 350, and a 2012 GS 350, both for about 5 years, and neither have shown the amount of wear my GX is showing after just 1.5 years.

Default 2016 same issue

I started seeing a collapse of the drivers side seat bolster within 3k miles from new. Also because of the way I get in and out. But I never had this problem on my other lexi or for that matter any other car I have owned. I will seek warranty repair soon.

Please keep us posted on your situation. I went to my dealership and they claimed my issue is also "normal wear and tear". I may try again at another dealership.

I have the exact same problem. 48K miles on a 2014. Was wife's DD and she weighs #100 so not a weight issue - clearly a flaw. I will address this at the next maintenance window.

I can't believe some dealers are telling people to contact corporate, mine was fixed under the original factory warranty, no questions asked. It is clearly a design flaw, not wear and tear just like the secondary air pump and valves were clearly a design flaw.

Same issue - 30k on a 2015 Lux... I'll bring this thread on my iPad to my next 5k service.
I expect Roseville Lexus will push back... Until I mention Corporate...

Did they replace your seats? Has the problem returned since then?

No they didn't replace the seat cover as that wasn't the issue, it was really the foam or whatever underneath. They fixed both the driver and passenger seats. Whatever they did the problem hasn't returned in 20,000 miles.

Funny you mentioned whether they replaced the seats, this is the first time they haven't replaced the seats when I had a seat problem. I had a 2003 RX300 that had a wire poking up on the seat bottom and they replaced the bottom seat cover. I also had a 2008 LS600hL that there was a TSB to add more padding to the bottom and they also replaced the bottom seat cover.

Same here. They would only replace the padding and not the covers. (even though the covers had creases where the dimples were.)
FWIW, the covers were $800+- apiece if I wanted to replace those.

My new to me 2013 GX also has the same issue with both front seats. I have contacted my dealer and Lexus Canada and sent them a link to this post. Will see what happen next.

My dealer is checking it out and told me he has looked at another GX and it too looks the same. The dealer is suggesting that the "bump" is because that's where the seat heater element connects. What do you guys think?

I have thís issue too but more on the driver side. The leather is still looking good just the budge in the foam. I have to watch how I enter the exit the car to avoid making it worst.

No current issues on either side and my leather is in good shape but sounds like something that will likely happen to me in the future.

My new to me 2012 GX 460 with 80k miles has this issue on the driver's seat, and I noticed on the Lexus Service History that the previous owner got a quote to fix this issue for $1400!! Rather than spend crazy money or haggle with the dealer, I ordered the OEM foam pad for $125 and downloaded the tech service manual to do it myself. We'll see how wise a decision this is...
