Very fair offer. He's probably getting offers of $24-$25k on trade in from dealers.

Something to note, the 2010's are in scope for the passenger side airbag recall. It looks like you're in PA so it's not likely that its airbag has been replaced yet (they're targeting hot/humid parts of the country first). Keep that in mind in that you probably shouldn't have a passenger ride along with you in the front seat until it's been replaced. This could also be a negotiating tactic for you as well.

Great point on 2010s and 2011s. My 2011 is sitting in my garage right now while I drive a Toyota rental.

If the seller is aware of the recall, is the seller legally obligated to disclose the recall to a buyer? I would think so...Private sellers or non Lexus dealers maybe able to dodge this (oh, I didn't get the letter or my address changed, what email?) and sell the car at a premium price. Unfortunately someone without the recall info will pay the premium price for the car.

True - but if the buyer is diligent and requests the VIN for a carfax report they could also use that to look up and recalls via the national database.

Seller is responsible to have all recalls completed prior to sale of the vehicle. Get the VIN and look up on this site http://www.toyota.com/recall

Unless it varies by state, that's not true. Private party and non-manufacturer sellers (as in, not the brand's dealership) can sell cars with active recalls. CarMax has been the subject of news reports because their cars don't need to have recall work performed. When I got rid of my BMW, which was under an active airbag recall, BMW dealerships didn't want it because they couldn't sell it. Non-BMW dealerships couldn't have cared less.

Surfishing - what'd you decide to do? Did you put in an offer?

I did not put in an offer, the truck is part of the zone A recall. I didn't want to take a chance with it, or buy to let sit until a remedy could be identified by Lexus.

Search continues!

The recall was not on the Carfax report?

Default Need guidance for GX 2016 Premium

From California....
I found a used GX 460 with mileage 6200 from a reputable dealer for $49,998.00. Is that a good deal?
It came from a one owner lease. It has both the comfort and the premium package. All manfacturer warranty will apply.
Planning on making a full offer....good or bad??

thanks

That seems like a pretty decent deal but I would think you could ask for $1,500 - 2,000 less. Doesn't hurt.
