Default Check Engine Light, Anti-Slip Light, and 4 Low Light

Yesturday I started my 2011 GX460 and after a strange sound under the hood, the check engine light stayed on, along with the anti-slip light, and the 4 Low was blinking. I backed out of the garage and moved the 4 low/high switch and nothing changed. I drove the vehicle and noticed when I accelerated, the engine would rev higher but would not accelerate like normal, almost like the transmittion was slipping. I visited my local O'Reily's for a free code scan and C1201 and P2445 came up. I returned home and researched these and found the problem is the seconday air intake pump. I noticed this is not uncommon with the Tundra and the GX. Toyota seems to cover the fix and Lexus does not. I will call my Lexus dealer this week and report my findings.

I had the same problem. Check your secondary air injection pump fuse. If its not blown you are good. Check you pump if any filter got stuck in the motor. I cleaned mine and reinstall back. Reset the faults. Run itfirst thing in the morning then the codes never came back. Good luck to you. How you will be able to fix it with no cost

Default Lexus Paid 100%

Good news on this situation. After my vehicle sat at the dealer all week, the service manager called to inform me that Lexus Corporate has decided to pay the entire $1600 bill.

I talked to the Service Manager at the dealership and expressed my concern about a premium vehicle brand that boasts reliability and customer satisfaction. I said we should not even be having this conversation!

This is something that Lexus knows about and should fix for you at no cost. You need to call them and explain the situation and that you need your vehicle towed to the dealer for the fix. After mine was fixed, I went and talked to my previous salesperson and the sales manager. They both said Lexus is really looking at this issue.

I had this failure on my 2011 GX with 95,000 kms and after my service tech submitted a CMS request on my behalf Lexus Canada offered to cover 70% of the cost of repairs max because the vehicle was out of warranty coverage for this item. The total cost was about $2,000 CDN and I paid 30% of that amount.
