Is there a way to increase payload on the GX460?
The GX460 has a payload of about 1400 lbs. I've been towing close to 6000-6500 lbs and along with gear and passengers in the SUV, am afraid of overloading the vehicle.
Does anyone know of a way to increase the payload on a GX? By installing airbags or something for example?

First you need to understand what your payload actually is.
As as far as increasing the capability, it is made up of a number of factors. Suspension, tires, and brakes are most important from a safety standpoint. But there is still a lot more to it. They obviously build in some margin of error. Whether you need more or not would depend upon how much over you are, how often, and the driving conditions.

1,470 lbs inside the truck is quite a lot. You could have seven 200+ lb passengers (good luck putting two of those in the back and one in the middle). Or four 200lb passengers with about 700lb left for equipment. I don't know what kind of equipment you're carrying, but unless you're lugging about $40M of gold bullion you should be OK.
If you're carrying the USA powerlifting team together with their entire gym's weight set, you should probably get another vehicle.
