I've bought 61 (maybe 62, need to look it up) new cars. That means I have gotten rid of nearly as many used cars and I've always been good at understanding used car values. I've seen this phenomenon many, many times.
I think depreciation and plummet are subject to definition. The idea here is a GX would probably take a hit as any other vehicle would when a new one comes along. Not saying it'd be worth peanuts but it'd still take a hit.

Usually the 5 year depreciation is about 50%. With a new model maybe 60%.
