Default 20,000 Mile service questions?

It is time (in months) for a service which would be 20,000 miles but ... I only have a shade over 17K on it. Should I get it done now or wait until I have 20K? Would that effect my warranty? What does that service cost .... It's tax season and I may owe Uncle Sam a big chunk ... Sigh.

They cannot void your warranty for not having maintenance done unless something happens that they can show was caused by not having maintenance done. There are several options, but don't sweat it. Wait until it's time first of all. Then if you are in a pinch, look for cheaper options to have the oil and filter changed and a general check of fluids. Thay cannot require you to have services done at a Lexus dealer.

I'm at 51K, Dealer hasn't done any services except for warranty issues. They have not refused any warranty either. Bottom line is they cant decline any warranty unless they can prove it's due to lack of maintenance. You can go to any service center and get your oil changed or whatever else you may think you need. These trucks do not need anything besides 10k oil changes for a long period of time.

P.S. I do my own oil changes, so no real record of them, if there is any issue with the engine they'll do an oil analysis before they deny any warranty.

I would wait it out until the truck hits 20k. If you think about it, you're closer to the 15k service interval than you are to the 20k interval.

as for pricing, that would depend on your dealership. I can schedule service on my vehicle at the dealership through their website and from there, I can see the pricing for each service they do.

with that said, I've done my own maintenance once Lexus stopped paying for them, or at 10k.
