Default 40 psi for all tires?

Everytime I brought my GX460 in for service they filled the tires up to 40 psi. I mentioned that to the SA last time and he said ALL GX and LX get 40 PSI. I still have OEM Mich tires with 10,450 miles.

What PSI do you run on your GX?

Funny that you should ask, I just checked my tire pressure earlier this morning and the rears were 33 and fronts were 32, which are well within the recommended PSI based on the sticker on the inside of the driver-side door.

Check the sticker on the inside of the driver’s side door jamb. I think its 33, but use whatever it says.

I run 40# in my 2004 Land Cruiser. I have stock 18" wheels but went with one size up tires (1" added diameter) primarily because I like the looks when it fills the wheel well a bit better

The larger tire has worked well for me and I am glad I up sized. Now on second set (post OEM tires) and also get very good tire life...around 70K+. Vehicle is at 170K miles right now.

I guess I went with 40# for MPG and tire wear...it is a bit "firm" but I do not seem to mind

P.S. Not sure anything helps the MPG on a Land Cruiser

Default Tire PSI

The pressure posted on the door post is the best is you are running the size tire that comes with the vehicle. If you move up to an "E" series tire than the psi is going to change. Also, do not use the pressure stated on the sidewall. That just means that is the maximum amount of pressure the tire can handle and still be safe. You will have a hard ride and the center of the tread will wear faster.

I tend to run 35 PSI all around on my Taco....I'm going to drop it down to 35 PSI all 4 corners on the Lexus as well.

Thanks all

GX is one of the last vehicles that needs to be redesigned. Yeah they updated the front end in 2014, but the interior is the same from 2010. They just released the new LX, so if the GX is sticking around, maybe they'll update it for MY2017.

I run whatever the driver's door jab says, and I am on 22's. Anything more is too harsh of a ride. I wouldn't run 40 in anything with regular P passenger car tires, unless the driver's door jamb calls for it, as your max PSI is usually about 44. If you have LT light truck tires, then I would run at least 40, but that's a whole other ball game.
