Default Ugh garage door got stuck need to replace rear spoiler cover

So my garage door got stuck before it went all the way up, and as I was reversing the top of the door caught the rear spoiler cover portion and cracked it also popping it off. It looks like the plastic bracket that hold the cover to the base broke.

The physical base of the spoiler and the LED light of the spoiler are fine and everything still functions... it's just ugly without that one cover piece. I tried to look up the parts in Lexus parts to see if the cover is a separate part number but unfortunately it looks like it only comes in one piece and is sold from the dealer for about 590$

I am thinking about taking it to a shop and seeing if they can fix the cracked plastic piece and glue it back together (it seems to be glued together from factory) It's just a shame because its that tiny piece that cracked and came off and I wish I didn't have to purchase the whole assembly that includes the LED light, the mounting bracket and base that bolts onto the car. Any ideas as to if there is a cheaper replacement, or anyone here that has experience replacing the rear spoiler ? Any dealer hook ups or discounts ?

Looks like you're in Texas. I would give Sewell Lexus a call. They used to give ClubLexus folks nice discounts on parts from their online store.

Turn the accident claim over to your Insurance Company.

Default Garage door stuck

First of all Sewell shut down their online operation a couple of months ago. If you use your insurance it will fall under collision for which most people carry a fairly large deductiible to hold down rates and it will count against your record as an accident claim. One more claim in the next 3 to 5 years and you will see a big rise in your rates. Then again, you may have allstate or liberty mutual that claim accident forgiveness on the first claim, but they will really nail you on any subsequent claims. I would just suck it up and pay out of pocket to get it fixed and chalk it up as a lesson learned. By the way, I did the same thing a couple of years ago when I had a 4RUNNER.

Well so update on this. The part is around 540$ and it comes painted and shipped. I ended up doing a quick fix using fiberglass and some glue composite to glue the plastic part back together and glue the mounts back on and I bolted it on. This past weekend I was coming back from a long road trip going about 90mph and the rear spoiler cover broke and blew off.

My deductible is $500 so I think I am just going to pay $540 and order the part and replace it myself since it was easy enough for me to remove and take it apart to repair. If I am going to be paying 500$ anyways and on top of it my insurance will go up, might as well replace the whole part and not report.

Seriously though, call Sewell Lexus and see if they still give Club Lexus discounts....even over the phone. I'm aware their online store went down. It was a sizeable discount...

They don't any longer. I spoke to Kerry two weeks ago. He said the owners completely shut them down for phone orders and web orders. No more clublexus discount either. They're out of that business. Best bet is my L parts. They still offer CL discount and prices are pretty good. It's just a distance coming from California to the east coast for me.

Default 2010 GX 460 Trunk Door Top Part ? Help ?

Hello,

Can someone help me with what this part is called ? and is it something I could purchase and replace myself or will need to take it to the dealer?

My wife pulled the car out while the garage door was still opening and it ripped this top part on the back door where the backup light is.

I just don't know what this part is called and how to even search it online.

From the damage, I might just need the plastic frame that sits inside and would attach back to the door.

Thanks in adva

If you need help replacing the spoiler send me a PM. I replaced mine a few years ago and might still have pictures and instructions.

Lol this has to happen so often. Someone really needs to come out with a legit simple replacement. I even researched 4runner spoilers but they didn't mount the same.
