It appears that you have lost a blank plug. To what, I have no clue. I assumed it was a manual override for the shifter like I had on my MDX (insert an object and you can shift with no key). I tried this on the GX with no results.
Curiously got me so I pulled the console up. I didn't look up the parts diagram, so not sure what it is for.
Here's the answer to your question...
Looks like your GX460 is missing the cover to the shift lock. You can check with your dealer to get a replacement. They shouldn't charge you for it since you just recently purchased the SUV.
