Default Multi-information display blank

I have very recently purchased a 2011 GX. Everything seems to be in working order, aside from the "multi-information display" in the guage cluster. While the elctronics options screen functions as described in the manual, pressing the menu button results in a blank screen instead of switching to the customization and/or driver information screens. Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you in advance.

Toggle the button with an up and down motion. It sounds like you are only pushing the button?

Thank you fornthe response. I finally called my local Lexus dealership, and they said it was definitely an issue they would have to look at if unplugging the battery for a hard reset wouldn't work. After plugging the battery back in, the issue mysteriously vanished. Thank you again for the help.

The power cycle process can resolve many issues. This is my go to quite often with any electronic device.
I personally haven't had to do this to a car, but I can understand how it could clear a software/hardware hiccup in the complex system.

Good luck to you and let us know if the problem returns.

Thought to bring up this old post instead of creating a new one. In tecman's pictures above - the last picture shows the multi-information screen as blank with just the odometer reading (this in between the options of Outside Temp and Elapsed Time on my 2018 premium). Does anyone know why is this screen blank? Is it because of missing upgrades on my trim?

It was there by design. Some people during long night driving prefer to have it blank to reduce overall cluster brightness for better peripheral vision, especially in dark remote areas. I am a pilot myself, for night flying, we often turn down all unnecessary light source in cockpit to improve peripheral vision for safety reason.

Thank you for the insight! I never would have thought of this perspective.. but it definitely makes sense. I steer clear of night driving anyway since I like to see roadside views on my drives.

The blank screen may also be a placeholder for when you have a maintenance due reminder as well ?

I haven't experienced this one, but my gear indicator occasionally goes blank. Typically on the next startup it's fine. of course it never happens when it's at the dealer....
