I can't find anything except for a chip reprogram. I'm not interested in that. A supercharger would be nice. I mean holy crap these trucks are SLOW. Good thing this is the wife's car, I couldn't drive it everyday.

I don't think it is slow for what it weighs and what it is made for.Slow compared to what other competent well rounded SUV?
That being said I hear you, I am a speedster and I run this truck hard and I feel it has more power than my 2003 MDX 240HP V6
I have asked the same question and sent an email to my local specialist shop and have researched online for a Supercharger and have had no luck.
See my thread.

yeah if youre driving a GTR then by all means, its slow.
its got good pickup for a truck, no pun intended.

i suspect the next generation gx will have a smaller engine and be turbo based like the Nx due out this year

Who knows if there will be a next gen GX though I can't see toyota ditching the Prado or LC lines that come from this same platform. Other countries would implode, lol.

Note that it's really just North America that tends to get the V8 option on these.

I actually think the V8 in the 2014 is great and would love to drop that into the T4R (can only dream).

..and try taking a GTR through MOAB offroad and see how FAST that goes... each auto has its purpose.

Don't get me wrong, I love the thing but it's slow. If no one else was on the highway it would be awesome but that's not the case. For road trips it's going to be a great ride but Toyota is WAAAY behind the game when it comes to engines. They are all underpowered and oversized but this = longevity/reliability so that's a decent trade I guess. Anyway, no sense beating a dead horse. I'm new to the GX scene but this topic doesn't seem to be from my many searches. I just wish TRD would offer a supercharger.

I was looking at the T4R too but the TRD supercharger has been 'coming out next Spring' since 2010 so I spent the extra $$$ to get the V8 and buttery smooth ride. It was a good choice as I need this to tow a boat.

It really needs the LS460's 385 hp tho..

You can make the GX into the T4R....it's the exact same platform, suspension components, etc... Even the skid plates off my T4R will fit (except for the front...you need a KDSS version). along with sliders, coilovers, LCA/UCA's...It would make for a hell of a climber. Add the ARB bumper, etc... super cool setup and all NA.

S/C will come out, lol, eventually...especially with the launch of the TRD T4R Pro model and the huge fan base from the end of the line FJ. They have to offer out of the box upgrades besides shifter ***** and re-branded toytec suspension if they really want to retain customers in this segment..

So is there no chance in getting the 386 HP like the LS 460?

Local tuner is your best option...I haven't searched but you may want to research what other platforms use the same engine as the GX and look for performance upgrades on those specific vehicles.

Keep in mind that LS technically uses a different engine... GX is 1UR-FE while LS is 1UR-FSE meaning it has direct injection which makes it a very different motor. Displacement is the only thing they share.
