trade in pricing - 2010-2013 for 2014+
taking the plunge after much deliberation.
want to trade my GX in for newer one.
dealers telling me they are using "auction" prices, not kbb or edmunds for trade ins.
whats been peoples experience here trading up?
Everyone gets shafted on these trades it seems.

You'll usually get much more money if you sell privately, but with that being said I know it's hard to sell a 40K vehicle privately as I have done it a few times. Not sure how PA works with taxes but I traded my last vehicle in on my GX and it worked out basically even with the tax savings on the GX with the trade in value of the Tahoe. I basically paid 2k less in NJ taxes due to trading in a 27+k vehicle.

I traded my 2010 Premium in perfect condition with 15K for $41K and I had my wheels chrome plated back in
October. I looked it up on Edmunds and that's the price they gave me for outstanding condition, trade value. They didn't give any extra for my wheels, but I'm sure they sold it for more with them. They were asking $52K for it on their web page and lowered it to $50K. They sold it pretty quick. You can always list it on Ebay, but for a couple grand, it wasn't worth it to me and taking the risk of a bad cashiers check. Have the funds wired to your bank account, too much fraud going around to take the risk.

Auction Pricing.
As Eppie said, not knowing your PA laws, and if you get a tax savings for the trade, however that would make a huge difference for me in selling it myself or not.

Eppieguy is right about it's hard to sell any car that is over 25k privately. Last week i listed my car under 1k of KBB price and people were still very low ball me..I ended up sold the car to the dealership and got 2 thousands more than Carmax had offered me and 500 more than private buyer from CL.

If you sell it or trade it in, do it soon. In my search for a used 2010-2013 GX with CRAWL control, I've seen the 2010's take a nice sized hit in resale value. It looks like they'll be hovering around $30k in a couple of years the way their prices are falling. Get rid of it early while you still can!

well dealer offered 36,5 for mine with 23000 miles, sucks. may just deal with it and get rid of it. I dont know if anyone here would buy it. Its practically near new. specs below. dont know how long it would take, then if i sell it too soon, i am carless.
I special ordered a luxury today with driver support package. Apparently, it has all options included except rear entertainment. dealer said will take about 3-4 months.
no more suvs after this. they take too big of a hit in resale. LXs fare much worse

i wanted it on, so next time, better chance of selling the vehicle hopefully.
what i didnt know, and maybe others here as well, Luxury edition already has navig and all features standard, so really only options you can add are
driver support package (which apparently now comes with ML premium audio) - he showed me the sheet
ML audio by itself.
rear seat entertainment.
+ other port added minor options (wheel locks, etc..)

I have the Driver's Support Package.
And we love it. I did add the RSES to it as well when we ordered. You do realize that by ordering a GX now, it will be toward the tail end of the model year and 15's will be out very shortly after yours arrives.
