Default GX460 race with Ford F150

Sitting at a red light with a Corvette in front of me and a Ford F150 beside the vette the light turns green. Entering the on ramp for a highway the vette takes off, I am in manual shift mode and floor it and the F150 does the same. Side by side with the F150 up to about 80mph I backed off due to traffic. Crap I could not pass a Ford F150 I researched the Ford and it comes in several lines from 302, 365, 360 and 411 hp. Guessing it was a 302 or 360 hp. I have Max Flo duel exhaust and K&N air filter so I think I should be at least 320+hp. I have not seen any mods to get more power out of the 460 and would like to get at least 20+ more hp. Anyone know of any options? I know I am asking for my well rounded GX460 to be a hot rod and it was not intended for that. The end is near for the GX so motor options will not be a future option.

Yup, a portly 2 1/2 tons, 4WD, and the aerodynamics of a brick do not make the GX a racer.

It does though, make it a great, secure ride.

I've always used people I know to do custom PCM tunes on my GM vehicles but I've yet to hear of anybody who plays with the computers on Lexus vehicles. I know there is more in that motor as all manufactures tune them conservatively.

The GX is never going to be a street racer. 300 HP won't move this beast. The LS 460 though can really move when you floor it.

It's just tough to coax power out of a naturally aspirated engine, almost impossible to get any real gains. Your only hope is forced induction.

Back in 2004, Lexus sold and installed a Supercharger for the GX 470.

Goggle search is not giving me any Superchargers for the 2nd Generation. Looks like a Turbocharger may be coming for the replacement according to this.

I am going to check with my local Japanese auto specialist next week but I expect to get the "Uh... never done that and no one has asked for it".

To the OP, to drop the 0-60 to something competitive with the average car out there, you'll have to add 200 HP to the GX. Forget it. Even a Camry V6 does 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

Just looking to get more HP in general. No results with my search for a Supercharger but I am not done researching. I got the expected response from my local shop and was told about $400 to install a Supercharger if I supply it.

Here is a videos of a supercharger install on a Tundra. Seems like it is a bigger job than $400 worth of labor.

Part 2 is in the related videos
