Tecman,

I know this thread is old, but did you ever come up with an after market solution to add more HP to your GX?
I have looked at the same thing, and in my research it appears that the 1UR FE engine (the 4.6l in your GX) is the same 1UR-FE engine offered in the 4.6l Tundra and Sequoia. The 5.7l engine is the 3UR-FE and it looks like it is the same intake manifold, really almost the same engine as the 1UR-FE except Toyota has stroked the 3UR-FE engine which adds the extra displacement.
So if the intake manifolds are the same, the Tundra supercharger should fit and install no problem. You would just need to have the ECU remapped to take advantage of the forced injection....
Has anyone tried this?

I recall reading there was a super charger that was discontinued. I could not find anyone who had one installed on the 460 and no one had any knowledge about it, I gave up on it. I have the K&N air filter and an exhaust upgrade. The K&N may give me a few more HP and I don't know about the exhaust, some say yes and some say it hurts performance. Besides this I don't know what other options we have? I don't really have any confidence in performance chips.

Depending on the specific trim F150, GX could easily have 1,000lbs on the pickup.

I can't see how an exhaust would hurt performance, but I'd suspect the headers would be a bottleneck.

Intake, header, exhaust & tune could probably net 20-40 horsepower on the V8 but it still won't be a sportscar by any means.

It's generally less efficient, but possible.

Almost everything is moving turbo these days though.

Reading this old post this morning reminded me about how the GX460 really needs a redesign from both Power and options. I just purchased my wife a 2017 Gx460, before that, she has had several RX350's and a ES350. I personally drive a Ford F150 SuperCrew Platinum edition. talking about power earlier got me thinking about how my F150 is significantly quicker than the gx460. Not even close. It even has a separate sport mode as well. My Truck weighs 5100 lbs with options, and has a little over 415hp with the air filter combo I have on it. So very close eight with the GX460. But also from the options standpoint, my 2 year old truck blows away the Lexus. We have typically taken my truck on vacations because of this. So besides the power, It has heated and cooled massaging Leather seats, Park Assist, Lane assist, Collision warning, etc. It even has the button that I push and it parallel parks itself. So roughly the same price as the GX460, but I would love those same options from my truck in my wifes SUV. Navigation, Audio, etc are all comparable. Put audio test equipment and taking readouts, the Sony system w/ subwoofer measures out acoustically almost Identical to the ML sound system. Would love some new features in the GX, just to get me where I am at with my over 2 year old truck now.......Plus my truck can tow my 8000lb boat....... And I have 400w accessory outlets in front and rear of the truck, in addition to USB in both locations. I had to run my own USB power to the rear of the GX so my son could power his Tablet.

Yes it does. I have had them in the past with the 5.4L and the 5.0, but nothing is like the 3.5L ecoboost with the dual turbos in Sport mode

It is, but I am happy with the GX460 so far. Or atleast the 125 miles that it has on it in 6 weeks. It is probably the only Lexus my wife has had that I am actually comfortable driving. The RX350's I always felt like a soccer mom every time I had to take her car somewhere. She was actually going to go for a minivan this time and I talked her into the GX460. Minivan seemed like overkill with only having 1 kid

Now to think of my wish list of all the changes I hope they make in a gx460 redesign. For now, Ill just settle for doing some mods to this one. I have added dual USB charger on the back of the console, Roof Rails, and LED light change outs are next on the list

And just need to figure out how to list all the Lexus over the last 8 Years in my signature.

2009 RX350 - Black
2011 RX350 - Black
2014 ES350- Black
2015 RX350-Nebula Gray
2015 RX350- Nebula Gray
2017 GX460- Nebula Gray

Now I just need to hit the 30 post mark

Dallas Guy1: You've got me in the numbers. I wish I could have talked my wife into the GS350 instead of the ES350 several years back. I think she would have been happier with the Fsport one of those

Also, Does it count as owning a Lexus and counting it as one of yours if you only owned it for 15 weeks and the Lexus dealer took it back and had to replace it?

I was browsing on the Ford F150 board a while ago and one guy posted that some dude in a soccer mom Lexus GX was able to keep up with him side by side as he entered the freeway even with his foot slammed on the gas pedal. Obviously he wasn't happy and looking for headers and straight cat-back to increase power.
