Question Engine sound/feel

I purchased my 2014 GX a couple of months ago and already logged in about 2K. The car has been great so far. The only thing that I'm not so used to, is a strange feeling when accelerating or going uphill (even slightly) - I can feel the engine roar(?) through the steering wheel - I can't really describe it well - it's not a vibration per se, but more like you feel the engine working harder than usual through the slight vibration of the steering wheel. This is my first V8 car - I used to have a V6 Acura MDX before, and never felt that. Sorry if I'm describing this not well. There is a good chance this is normal for a V8 based truck, but I wanted to get others' input.
Thanks

People get addicted to that V8 burble, myself being one of them. The thrum of the V8 in the GX is quite intoxicating and I would hate not to have it now. It's just a V8 thing.

I think the sound come from V8 power (roar) but yet when I test drove the 14 gx, I noticed the engine sound louder from the cabin compare to my previous 13" LX.

You should not feel any vibrations when accelerating, particularly in the steering wheel, unless the tires are still cold and may have a minor flat spot until sufficiently warmed.

I'm getting the same vibration through the steering wheels when I floor it, and then it disappears when I let off the gas. I'm not sure there's anything wrong, it's just the resonance of the engine through anything solid. I kind of like it actually - it's a very primal feel. I've had naturally aspirated V6s (Lotus Evora), blown V6's (Audi S4), Inline 6's (Jeep TJ), the dreaded minivan 3.8L V6 in the Wrangler JK, and my favorite of all time, the supercharged 1.8L 4 banger from the Elise that just wails and screams all day and night. This V8 is really smooth and has a nice note.

Thanx! Sounds like this is normal - MTLDean used the word I should have used - resonance of the engine. Guess I just will have to get used to V8 sound

im not sure what vibration you folks are feeling, i have no vibration in mine with even hard acceleration. when its going up hill, the engine is working harder and you can definitely hear a little of that

All this engine talk is getting me excited!
Have not felt the thrill of a good engine roar since my DH took over the Powerstroke diesel. /

My first week of driving the GX was odd...I thought the engine was dog slow. Even my wife asked if it was correct. After I broke it in, and learned how to control the RPMs, and learned how to shift it to manual when I needed, I think the 301hp's in the car work pretty well.

I've realized that the key with the GX is to have a heavy foot. The gas pedal doesn't like to be feathered like a lot of other cars I've owned (which were admittedly all lighter and sports cars). When you give the pedal a few inches of travel, the GX hustles with no issue - you have to "wake it up" so it drops a few gears.
