Default Yet another new owner question

I have only had my 2013 for three days but I have noticed when I come up my driveway (quite steep) and I pause to fold in my mirrors (Narrow garage door - wide truck) and start to move again I get this loud clicking sound and a yellow light flashes on the dash. Is this supposed to happen? I did not have this issue with the Sequoia I traded in, it's probably an off road feature I just do not understand. Is this something I can shut off? I am still learning about this truck and I really appreciate all the answers.
Thanks in advance,
Jim in WV

Try folding your mirrors before you start up your steep driveway.

Default Could it be...

a hill assist thing. The clacking sound and flashing light was sort of disconcerting.

It was either slightly rolling backwards or thought it was and it was applying the brakes so you didn't roll backwards. Leave it in drive while you're stopped and aiming uphill, let your foot off the brake and let it roll backwards, you'll get the same symptoms. Just wait till it downshifts while going down a hill at speed and you hit the brakes and it downshifts. I thought the transmission was bad till I read the manual.

Thanks, it was rolling backwards a little bit. At least I know it is supposed to do that.

It is normal but it is a rather alarming sound.

Totally normal, its just gung ho to ensure you don't roll backwards. My 2012 4Runner was identical.
