Is this a decent deal?
I recently purchased a 2014 Rx and my husband likes it so much he has decided to buy a 2014 GX. He has been offered the following deal. What do you all think?
MSRP of $57402.00 for $53,957.00 or $3445.00 off. Plus they offered a pretty decent trade in price.
Thoughts?
Thank!
Ellen
(Mods, I just realized I posted this in the RX section. Can you move it to the GX? Thanks)

It gets hard to figure out the "deal" when you add in the trade-in to the mix. On my 2014 RX350 the MSRP is 49,694 and I got $4K off that. Your GX is about $10K higher to start so I would expect you to at least get the $4K off plus whatever your getting on your trade in above the trade-in's market value.
If your trade-in is really worth, say $17,000 and Lexus gives you $20K, then you can add that $3K to the discount (in your case $3,445) and that will tell you what the actual discount is.
Good Luck

The trade makes this fuzzy.
Not knowing what exact options you have on the base model makes this tough to figure out exactly. Ballpark, your sale price is about $1800-1900 over invoice. However your trade makes that fuzzy. Find out exactly what the new one is built with, than build it on edmunds.com to see the invoice. That will tell you what you are getting on the new one.
The trade is whatever value you are satisfied with. Know what the trade value of the vehicle is from various sites, and then be rational with what its worth to you. These too figures will then determine if you received a good deal.

OK thanks for your input. We are going to press for more money off and see what happens.
It's the last day of the month and the GM has already asked if we could finalize this deal today if we can agree on the price so I think he is trying to meet sales goals.
I'll let you all know what happens.

Ok we just took delivery! We worked pretty hard to get the GM to come down $500 more off the price. He was willing to let us walk so we felt like we were at his low. Tungsten pearl with ecru interior! It's beautiful and drives like a dream!

Thanks for the info, I am feel like a dump person, so my local dealer has a premium with the ML and some other small option, so the MRSP $61945 so what the price should come down to? I am planning to ask them to go down $4500 off from that MSRP, is it sound right? Thanks
