Default Spare tire

Hi everyone,

I had my car at the local dealer for 10k maintenance yesterday. They did oil filter change, tires rotation and multiple-point inspection. When I got home I noticed that the chain that used to hang my spare tire looked a little bit weird. I meant I thought that it was somehow was hidden inside but NOT to be showed out like it is now (see the picture). Can some one please let me know if that is supposed like that? Or they released the tire and did not put it back correctly ? Thanks a lot.

I'm glad to have found this post. I was wondering if it's normal. Anyone knows why and what the chain is form? Is it to hold the spare when we release it?

Yep, it holds the spare tire to the vehicle and is the actual mechanism for lowering and raising it from its spot.
See page 539 from the manual:http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/do...f/OM60M73U.pdf

Wow this is interesting , I just took my 2015 to Lexus the other day for low tire pressure light and they said it was the spare. So when I got back home and parked it in the garage I noticed the chain hanging under the spare that was definitely NOT there before. Evidently there must be some type of small zip tie or something keeping it bunched up from the factory.
