Buying GX, 2013 or 2014?
In the market for a GX 460. Was looking preowned, but theyre hard to find and since the vehicle holds its value so well theres little price difference in new vs preowned. Was ready to pull the trigger on an in stock 2013 GX 460 when I learned the 2014 would be considerably cheaper. Dealer offered me very little off MSRP on new 2013 model; told them I would wait for the 2014s. Is anyone else in the market right now for new GXs? Leaning toward 2013s or 2014s? What will the 2014 models do to prices of 2013s remaining in inventory?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm in the market for a new GX, I'll be waiting for the 2014 models. The styling upgrade and minor tweaks are worth it to me.
How much did they offer off the MSRP for the 2013?

I'm thinking the bottom has to fall out on 2013 prices. Cant see anyone buying last year model for more than current years model. A 2013 model with a MSRP of 60,000 has to be reduced to +/- $52,000 to compete, right?

I would expect deep discounts on the 2013s, but only once the 2014s start showing up in significant numbers (mid-late October onwards).
At around $50-51k (down from an MSRP of almost $60K), the 2013 would be a good deal. Then again, you could probably get a 2014 Premium with Lexus accessory tow hitch for about $52k without too much trouble....
I'd guess there are probably close to 1000 new 2013 GX still out there, which is enough to sustain them for another month until the 2014s get here. Lexus doesn't exactly flood its dealers with the GX, and I would expect the majority of the 2013s to be sold by the time the 2014s start showing up en masse.

There are usually not a lot of leftover GXs and I do not think 13 will be any different. Being that the 14 will be refreshed, I would not pay more than invoice on a 13. If I were interested in a 14, I would not pay more than $1500 over invoice (the 14 is not a total re-design). Never negotiate with MSRP, only invoice! There are thousands between $1500 under MSRP and $1500 over invoice!

Went to the local dealer today to see how much discount I can truly get since we are in the market for a SUV. They only have one left but show 5 online. Anyways, this one is 2013 Base Model with comfort/convenience package, navigation, tow hitch for $60,000. Told the sales person, the total price I want with. And they came back with $50k which it is $10k off MSRP but only $5k off Invoice.
Told the sales person that the 2014 Base is going to be $5k lower and Lexus offers has $1500 back right now.
At the end, I think the 2013 model deal can be have, but not at only 5k off Invoice. Maybe I am being unrealistic where It will be slick if can get this vehicle at $45k before all the tax and tag fees that my state charges.
Going to hold off just a bit and see....
